Online Qigong apprenticeship
Begins August 2027
10 months: build your own sustainable practice
Registration Open.
This 10-month program is an online apprenticeship with a clear focus: developing a deep, sustainable, and personal practice for yourself. It is not about collecting techniques. It is about understanding why you move, how qi flows, and what happens physically, emotionally, and energetically when you practise with awareness.
This program is for you if you:
Feel drawn to slow, deep, and intelligent movement
Want to understand the qi behind the movements, rather than simply learning the forms
Are curious about Chinese medicine, the organs, emotions, and energy traditions
Are looking for a practice that builds energy rather than depletes it
Feel that this is particularly relevant in midlife
Are ready to practise regularly for yourself
Want to establish a daily routine
Want to learn simple but powerful meditation
Want to learn the wisdom from Tao Te Ching for daily life
In Chinese medicine, particular emphasis is placed on protecting and cultivating qi as we enter midlife.
Qigong does not drain your energy. It builds energy.
The practice: Baduanjin — The Eight Brocades
Over the 10 months, we will explore the classical Qigong sequence known as the Eight Brocades (Ba Duan Jin).
It consists of eight foundational movements. Each movement is associated with:
Specific organs
Emotions
Meridians
The way qi moves and transforms throughout the body
Rather than simply learning a fixed sequence, we will:
Break down the movements step by step
Focus on one main movement each month, while practising the entire sequence and additional movements during every session
Explore in depth why each movement is performed the way it is
Learn to feel and sense qi, rather than merely performing the movements
Study a chapter of the Tao Te Ching each month, with inquiries to deepen the practice
Weave in Qigong and the Tao Te Ching as a lifestyle
Meditation: Zhan Zhuang + Sitting and Forgetting (Zuo Wang)
Alongside Qigong, we will practise standing meditation: Zhan Zhuang, as well as Sitting and Forgetting, a Taoist meditation tradition.
We begin the practice of Zhan Zhuang on our first session, and the sitting meditation in session three.
Here, movement settles into stillness. The inner work deepens, and many people experience profound changes on a mental, emotional, and energetic level.
Qigong and meditation together offer something truly special.

About Baduanjin: Qigong and Taoist inner alchemy
Every class begins in stillness. We are reminded of a fundamental Taoist principle: all life begins in stillness, and all change grows from the roots of calm. We then move into the flowing practice of Qigong, repeating each form with care. Through repetition, we deepen our connection with the breath, qi, and the body's natural rhythms. Each movement offers an opportunity to experience Taoist wisdom: allow energy the time it needs to mature, and let small steps lead to lasting change.
We practise Baduanjin, the Eight Brocades, where strength, flow, and vitality come together. These exercises are rooted in Taoist insights into longevity and the care of body and mind for a long and harmonious life.
The flowing movements help develop strength and mobility while cultivating energy, balance, and vitality.
We conclude with meditation (standing Zhan Zhuang and/or seated), allowing the movement to settle and the energy to integrate. The work of the body, breath, and mind comes together, inviting us to reflect on Taoist teachings: nurturing life, accepting change, and appreciating each moment.
Every class follows a circle:
Stillness → Gentle Strength → Flowing Qigong → Baduanjin → Meditation and Integration
This is a practice of inner alchemy, where Taoist wisdom meets the intelligence of the body. Through repetition and presence, we cultivate vitality, lasting energy, and a balanced mind.
Step by step, breath by breath, we develop strength, flexibility, and wellbeing on the path towards a long and fulfilling life.
